I, Dr. Cynthia Hazel, am passionate about love and fear in relationships. I have developed a practice, the LovePOEM, to assist us in claiming our agency, through honestly acknowledging our love and fear. I also study allyship, student voice, listening, and consultation.

When I am not pursuing these passions, I spend as much time outdoors as possible: hiking, mountain biking, whitewater kayaking and rafting, skiing, and (most recently) sailing. 

I am a Professor of School Psychology at the University of Denver. As a White, straight, cisgendered, Gen X, agnostic ambulatory woman, I’ve experienced a lot privilege and some discrimination across my life. My goal is to share my insights, gained through my lived experiences and professional training, to support you in your journey of claiming your agency and crafting the relationships that you seek.
